Bulk actions provide a quick and easy way to update multiple time entries in one go. Whether you want to delete an entire day, change custom fields or make a copy of multiple time entries, bulk actions will make it happen.

Selecting time entries

Both the list view and grid view support bulk actions. You can use the checkboxes to trigger the so-called action bar. It is not possible to select other weeks than the one you are currently viewing.

In the grid view, you have the option to:

  • toggle all visible time entries by clicking on the top left checkbox in the header of the table,

  • toggle all visible time entries in a row.

The list view allows you to select:

  • all time entries,

  • all time entries per day,

  • single time entries.

Tip

You can select multiple subsequent time entries on your timesheet by holding down on your keyboard while selecting the first and last time entry you want to select.

Actions

Duplicate

Using the duplicate action, you can copy and paste the selected time entries to other dates in the past and future.

  1. In the action bar, select Duplicate.

  2. Select per day to which the time entries should get duplicated to.

  3. Click Next to validate the selection.

  4. If any date is invalid, resolve the issue and repeat the previous step.

  5. When you want to alter your selection, click on Back to edit and start again from step 2.

  6. When you are happy with your selection, click on Duplicate to start the duplication.

Move

The move action allows you to move multiple time entries to another date. You can move time entries from multiple dates to a single new date if you need to.

  1. In the action bar, select Move.

  2. Select per day to which the time entries should get moved to.

  3. Click Next to validate the selection.

  4. If any date is invalid, resolve the issue and repeat the previous step.

  5. When you want to alter your selection, click on Back to edit and start again from step 2.

  6. When you are happy with your selection, click on Move to start moving the time entries.

Edit

With the edit action, you can change several fields for multiple time entries at once.

  1. In the action bar, select Edit.

  2. In the select on the left, choose which field you want to change.

  3. Use the input next to it to select a new value.

  4. If you want to change another field, add a new one by clicking on + Add field.

  5. Repeat from step 2 for every field you want to change.

  6. When you do not want to update a field, remove it from the changes by clicking on the bin.

  7. Click Next to validate the selection.

  8. If any input in invalid, resolve the issue and repeat the previous step.

  9. When you want to alter your selection, click on Back and start again from step 2.

  10. When you are happy with your selection, click on Save changes to start updating the time entries.

Delete

By using the delete action, you can delete a selection of time entries.

  1. In the action bar, select Delete.

  2. If you are ready to delete your selection, click on Delete.

Validation

A timesheet can contain a disabled checkbox. This can happen because:

  • There are no time entries to select,

  • One or multiple fields have been archived,

  • One or multiple fields have been deleted,

  • The period is locked.

In case a time entry ends up being invalid while an action is running, it will not get updated. Instead, the time entry (including an explanation) will be shown in an overview after the action has finished.
