Timer

The timer allows you to continue working on a task while keeping track of your hours automatically.

Start timer

The timer can be started from the board view and item view.

  1. Go to your timesheet and select the grid view.

  2. Hover over an existing row to show the start timer button.

  3. Click on the start timer button.

  4. In the Tracket menu bar, a timer starts running.

If another timer is currently running, a modal appears to turn the previous timer into a time entry.

  1. Open Tracket the item view for the item you want to start a timer for.

  2. Click on Start timer.

Stop timer

A timer can be stopped in multiple ways. It is also possible to start a new one directly after stopping a running timer.

Important

Time entries are capped to 24 hours. This also applies to the timer; you can keep a timer running for more than 24 hours, but the time will be capped when creating the time entry.

Tracket menu

  1. Click on the stop timer button.

  2. A modal appears with the form for the running timer.

  3. Fill in the missing details of the time entry if necessary.

  4. Click on Save changes. To cancel the timer and not log the changes, in the modal, click on Discard.

It is possible to stop a timer by starting a new one.

  1. Go to your timesheet and select the grid view.

  5. Fill in the missing details of the time entry if necessary.

  6. Click on Save changes.

The same item

  1. Open Tracket in the item view for the item you that has a running timer.

  2. Fill in the missing details of the time entry if necessary in the form.

  3. Click the stop timer button.

Another item

  1. Open Tracket the item view for the item you without a running timer.

  2. At the top, click on the stop timer button, or click Start timer to start a new one.

  3. A modal appears with the form for the running timer.

  4. Fill in the missing details of the time entry if necessary.

  5. Click on Save changes. To cancel the timer and not log the changes, in the modal, click on Discard.
