Item and group filters let you control where users can log time on a per-board basis. By setting up filters, only items that match your conditions will be available for time logging. Everything else is hidden.
Why you'd use this
By default, users can log time on any item across your boards. That works fine for small teams, but as your workspace grows you may want more control. Item and group filters help you keep time logging focused on work that actually matters.
A few common scenarios:
You have a group for active work. If your board has groups like "Active projects", "Backlog", and "Archived", you probably only want time logged on active items. Set a group filter to limit logging to the "Active projects" group, and items in other groups won't appear.
You work with statuses. If your board uses a status column to track progress, you can filter by status so users can only log time on items that are actually in progress. For example, allow logging on "In progress", "In review", and "Awaiting feedback", but not on "Done", "Cancelled", or "On hold".
You track budgets per item. If your board has a numbers column where budget is logged directly, you can use it as a filter. Set the condition to greater than 0 so users can only log time on items that still have budget available. Items with no budget or a budget of zero won't appear.
How to set it up
-
Go to App Settings → Item and group filters.
-
Select a board from the dropdown.
-
Add one or more filter conditions for that board.
-
Save the configuration.
-
Repeat for any other boards you want to configure.
Boards without a filter configured follow the default behavior. All items are available for time logging.

A few things to keep in mind
-
Filters apply per board. A board without filters configured allows time logging on all items.
-
Multiple conditions on the same board are combined. An item has to match all conditions to be available for time logging.
This feature is in beta
Item and group filters are new and we're still refining how they work. You might run into rough edges, and the feature may change or be removed based on what we learn.
